JOB SUMMARY This person will be a licensed architect with a natural ability to lead. This position will manage the initiation of a project’s design and safeguard the design intent throughout the project’s lifespan. They will ensure client expectations are met throughout the design. They will oversee a team of project designers and develop their priorities, deadlines, and review their work quality.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Support the development of the design team
  • Generate design concepts and precedent research
  • Review graphic quality of design presentations and documents
  • Organize and participate in design charrettes
  • Coordinate, prepare for and attend relevant client and prospect meetings
  • Acts as an internal and external ambassador for the firm

SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Ability to communicate effectively in written format, oral presentations, as well as in drawings
  • Ability to understand and communicate technical design information
  • Provide clients with suitable design recommendations based on factors such as budget, building site,
    and recent design trends
  • Ability to rework and modify designs based on comments and reviews from clients
  • Ability to multitask and establish priorities
  • Ability to maintain organization in a changing environment
  • Ability to serve as an agent of change and foster positive employee morale
  • Ability to delegate tasks appropriately as necessary
  • Exhibits initiative, responsibility, flexibility, and leadership
  • Self-motivated and confident
  • Extensive knowledge of Revit, Sketchup, Lumion, etc.
  • Mentorship and coaching with all design interns and younger team members

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 10+ years of experience
  • Bachelors or Masters Degree in Architecture
  • Experience in in the commercial, sports, and education market segments
  • Licensure preferred but not required
  • LEED or equivalent designation in sustainable design desired but not required
