Choosing an architectural partner is an important part of positioning your campus for success. Unfortunately, all firms aren’t created equally. Here are four warning signs you may be working with a vendor and not a true partner.
1. Pulling a bait-and-switch.
It’s a classic move. The sales team makes promises and closes the deal, but you never see them again. Transparency is key. Knowing your team is the first step in establishing trust.
2. Egos are bigger than objectives.
Designing “for” you but never asking you — or your stakeholders — for input is wrong. Whose project is this anyway?
3. Future use isn’t being considered.
A true partner will always think big picture and not transactionally. A master plan should account for flexibility and the right team will seamlessly adjust as plans change.
4. Passion.
Their “why” should be similar to yours and evident in your conversations.
